“Designing Interactions” Masterclass

Long a global powerhouse in shipping, business and finance, Singapore has invested heavily in recent years to build its design-driven economy as well; CIID Consulting is a frequent partner in these efforts. In January and February of 2015, I was able to join with two other designers from CIID’s network to lead a three-week masterclass series on “Designing Interactions,” at the National Design Centre in collaboration with DesignSingapore.

The courses brought together over 80 Singaporean creative professionals, in fields ranging from Industrial and Interaction Design to Architecture and Design Research, to participate in a series of intensive workshops highlighting proven user research and prototyping tools. In true CIID fashion, the sessions featured plenty of interactive learning, challenging participants to quickly build physical, paper and digital prototypes, in addition to examining case studies and engaging in discussion about what works (and what doesn’t) in experience design.
